چکیده
A heterogeneous catalyst, composed of an open-cell glass foam support impregnated with zerovalent ruthenium nanoparticles (loading around 0.1 wt.%), was used to remove toluene in air by catalytic ozonation. Experiments lab-designed 2−6 cm length and 1.6 diameter catalysts were performed. model based on the Langmuir–Hinshelwood mechanism, coupled mass transfer limitations including competitive effects between ozone, designed. It accurately fits experimental data gathered at various temperatures (30−90 °C), gas velocities (0.0025−0.017 m s−1) inlet ozone concentrations (6.4–11.2 g m−3). The removal mainly ruled concentration low while adsorption competition becomes significant high concentrations. Predictive simulations, 1.0 m−3 concentration, compared terms investment cost, operating cost process performances. results highlighted complexity process, which involves antagonist aims design a compact energy-efficient reactor. With best conditions (90 °C 46 concentration), reached 88% (removal rate 0.25 degradation (97%) moderate reactor 0.11 m. These good performances associated catalyst’s synthesis make it efficient alternative for pollutants from air.

Background and aims: Clean air is one of the most important components of health and sustainable development. Every person breathes about 10 kg of air per day and if it contains pollutants, it will have a serious impact on their health. Indoor air quality (IAQ) is one of the major health issues that have been addressed in recent years with changes in lifestyle patterns. Usually, due to the incr...
